Services Used in the Workshop
The following are instructions to set up the accounts needed for the free services used in the workshop.
1. Get a Google account (you probably already have one):
- Go to https://www.google.com/account
- Click "Create an Account" in the upper right corner and follow the instructions.
- Go to https://airtable.com/invite/r/MN8DLT6q
- Follow the instructions to set up your account.
- Go to https://aws.amazon.com/
- Click the "Create AWS Account" button in the upper right corner.
- Follow the instructions to create your AWS account. You will need a credit card to complete the sign-up process. However, following along with the workshop example will not incur any charges.
3. Get a Github account:
- Go to https://github.com/
- Click the "Sign up" button in the upper right corner.
- Follow the instructions to create your Github account.
4. (Optional) Get a data.world account:
- Though not used in the example, I will also introduce you to data.world (a free site for sharing data and executing SQL in the cloud), so you may want to get a free account at https://data.world
